Lots of nastiness from old media types directing anger and condescension towards bloggers. Apparantely we all do our work in pajamas and never check facts and such like that. It made me realize the real difference between old media and new media; old media has little respect for the intelligence of their viewers/readers, thus they hand-feed conclusions so us ignorant folks won't misunderstand, or even worse, draw our own conclusions. Bloggers, on the other hand, expect that their readers will be intelligent enough to examine all the evidence, not take the word of one blogger as god-given, and possibly even be suspicious enough of what's being read to disbelieve it.

Where's your evidence?

My evidence for what? That sveral old media types have called bloggers pajama wearing hacks? That they dumb down their coverage for what they consider the averrage American viewer? I suspect this "anonymous" poster is Dave, and Dave proved my point earlier in an email by parroting many big media types in calling Americans who voted for Bush "ignorant." Watch Olberman, read Krugman in the NYTimes, or Dowd, read the New Yorker, watch Dan Rather, who foisted fake documents on a public he suspected would be too stupid to see through the charade. I'm not in the mood to run around finding quotes of old media types calling the average American supporter of George Bush stupid or ignorant, because they are all over the place.
